The Ellyn Bentz Maxwell Memorial Scholarship, presented by PCCA, was awarded to Samantha Villa (Theta Omicron) at Region Weekend for Region XII on February 27, 2016.
Samantha, a junior at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, has a cumulative GPA of 3.87. She is a double major in finance and accounting. Samantha has served Theta Omicron as Historian, Academics Chairwoman, and Panhellenic delegate. In addition, she is a Guerra Honors scholar and a member of the Dean’s List.
Leticia Alanis, CCD at Theta Omicron, described Samantha as “a great sister with a heart of gold.” Apparently, Samantha “never misses a Delta Zeta event” and is “determined and always finds a way to get things done.” In her application, Samantha explained that Delta Zeta “has given me more than what I could’ve asked for; it has given me friendships and memories that will alst a lifetime.”
Eventually, Samantha wants to be the CEO of a major corporation and serve as a positive influence to other Latina women. Congratulations to Samantha for her dedication to her academics and Delta Zeta!
