A Message from Pi Sigma, Recruitment Help Wanted

Hello Delta Zetas! My name is Amy and I am the College Chapter Director for the Pi Sigma Chapter at the University of Texas at Dallas located in Richardson. The chapter is almost 4 years old and we are embarking on our 4th formal recruitment. This young and growing chapter has seen consistent progress in all areas of the chapter, and this year is already on its way once again. We currently have 60 actives and expect 35+ new members this fall! We can't wait to welcome our new sisters, but first, we have to prepare for formal recruitment! Because we are new chapter, we also have a small alumnae base of 84 women. This means that we are at a disadvantage when it comes to alumnae support in comparison to the other sororities on the campus. As you can imagine, we miss out on some of the things more established chapters benefit from because they simply have more chapter alumnae. We'd like to change that and we are looking at the vast network of Delta Zetas in our area to help the chapter achieve our goals. We have several ways that you can show your support for the chapter. Please take a moment to check out some of the options listed below. Although monetary and volunteer support is always super helpful, we've also pushed ourselves to find creative ways that you can support us from afar and for free! Every little bit of support helps the chapter offer the best sorority experience possible to our current actives and new members. Your participation also reinforces that Delta Zeta is truly a lifelong sisterhood experience to our current and future members. WAYS YOU CAN HELP THE CHAPTER

  • Donate Goods: Check out our Amazon Wish List! There are a variety of items on our list- including some decorations. Panhellenic dictates a very limited decoration budget of just $300 per party. So anything that is donated just enhances our ability to beautify the campus meeting rooms we use during our recruitment parties. We've also included snacks and health and beauty items that allow us to make work week and formal recruitment a little more comfortable for the actives.

  • Rush 'N Tea Mock Recruitment Event: We need your help! Practice, practice, practice is the way to perfect conversation skills. Join us during our Mock Recruitment session and share in the sisterhood! This casual event promises to be fun. There may or may not be tea but there's sure to be Dee Zees! We are looking for 20-30 alumnae to participate, but we will take more! This event is open to Delta Zetas of all ages as well as young legacies and their high school friends. Click here to sign up to attend.

  • Share your Delta Zeta Story: Regardless of where you are in your membership journey, we all have a Delta Zeta story. These little stories start one woman at at time, and these shared connections power the kind of sisterhood that can change the world. I know it sounds lofty, but it is true! You make a difference. Share your story here and we'll share it with the chapter and potential new members to spark that flame we all hold in our hearts for our Delta Zeta sisterhood.

  • Formal Recruitment: UTD is still finalizing all of the details around formal recruitment. We won't know our schedule until we get a few days out from the first party. This is because women are allowed to sign up through August 30th! Click here to see the areas where we need assistance. If you are interested in assisting but aren't sure you can totally commit until the schedule is out, please let us know on the sign up form. We'll be in touch when we have more details;)

Pantyhose and closed-toe shoes are no longer required). Click here to sign up and attend. Tuesday, September 4th 7:30PM Location TBD on UTD Campus.

I know there is a lot of information here. I appreciate your patience and attention. I sincerely hope that you will consider contributing and supporting Pi Sigma's formal recruitment in one of the ways above. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at this email address or amy.gamble.dz@gmail.com. Truly, Amy
